Final image
the brief was to paint the Chaos fortress so gigantic that the Chaos warriors are like ants. And then an equally massive dragon wrapped around the fortress. This is located in the realm of fire.
GW is happy with the perspective mood and sense of scale, but dragon is supposed to be the size of a moon!! WOW.. anyway they prefer to have its head up in the clouds and looking down.
colour is striaghtforward, since their local colours are all in the warm zone, unlike the other GW illustrations with different groups having various colours.. which takes a while to balance.. so yes, just keeping it red, orange with a bit of desaturation
As I detail the scales I thought of them opening up a bit as it turns.. that'll be cool
